Change

A few weeks ago I was wondering if pink was my color.
And I still don't feel comfortable with it.

Instead I decided that I would change once a month.
Here is the February blog revelation!
I tried to make it a little themed.
I hope up you like it :)

Andhari's Dress Party Project

Andhari is hosting this cool project.

We have till February 3rd to post a picture of ourselves in a pink dress.
So today I went out shopping with my sister to tried on some dresses (because I don't own anything pink) and took pictures in the stores that allowed it.

Here is the result:

It's not all pink, but I hope it will count :)

How are you holding up?

Awards

I've gotten 2 awards the past week :)

This one from Sam

And this one from Loys

The rules for both of them are pretty similar, I have to tell you 7 things about me that either make me happy or that are fun facts about myself. Here I go:

1. Chocolate makes me sooooo happy. I love chocolate so much that I will take dark 80% pure chocolate and add sugar to it to be able to eat it.

2. I love my boyfriends cat Tyler. He is so cute and he makes me so happy in his cuteness, even if I an allergic to him.

3. I love the comfort of warm bed sheets in the morning and I especially love weekends so I can go back to them whenever I want.

4. I love white sandy beaches. I have been counting days down (since last year) till we return to Cuba (43 left)

5. Every Christmas since I was able to chew, my mom has been giving us a LifeSaver book.

6. My lucky number is 14. It has been since grade 1 when I won a pack of lickerish.

7. I am the best singer in world in my car when I am stuck in traffic.

Wow this was harder than I thought it would be.

Now I tag :Iva ,CHLOE , Bearette and Annie

Saturday's hot guy #16

Josh Duhamel is my guy of the week.

Born in Minot North Dakota in 1972, he is the oldest of 4 children, the only boy.

Dead laptop

After my last post my laptop died.
I am now on my itouch.
I dont know for how long I will be out of service.
I will try to get the geek squad to revive it.
I hope its not too big of an issue.
Wish me luck.

*****update*****
When I tried this morning to start it in safe mode it asked me to reboot twice.
So I rebooted twice and now it seems fine.
I back up all my things on an external drive and I am now waiting to see if it will crash.

Good deed update

Here is a part of the table that we had set up.

We gathered a total of 114.60$
The homeless shelter didn't lose a second taking our left overs.

I am very happy :)

Good deed

Inspired by KS, I decided to organize a bake sale at work.

So tonight me and 2 friends baked our asses off.
Brownies, cupcakes, cookies, fudge, Oreo jello :)

The bake sale is on Friday and it is to help the people of Haïti.
I will donate all that we will gather to the Red Cross.
What ever will not be sold will be brought to a homeless shelter.

It feels great to be able to do such a little thing, but that in the end may do a big difference for another person.
Even as little as putting a smile on their faces makes me happy.

I'll try to get the company to match up what we donate.
I'll let you know how well it went :)

Eyes

I read a little article in the paper and it inspired me.

Each one of us has lived this moment to a point in our lives, being uncomfortable in a elevator.
The air suddenly seems to be heavy and leans on time, squishes time and stops it. Eyes everywhere! Quick you need to look at something! Anything! You need something to save your little eyes from the look that a stranger could give you.
The floors pass, until you reach yours. Damn! It was close, your eyes could have been in contact with that stranger, can you imagine the catastrophe!!!

Can you tell me what is this problem that we all have?
In the subway I would never stare at a hot guy. What if he found out I find him cute? Drama!
So as most of us do, we stare at the reflection of that person in the window. If her eyes crosses mine, I pretend to be looking out the window.

On the bus, we stare on the ground, outside or read 48 times the publicity on top of the windows.
All of that again to avoid the eyes of a stranger and the famous saying: You want my picture?
First of all no one ever says that.
Secondly if I want the picture of a stranger I can just go on Facebook.
Hey, what do you know, maybe I like to look people's 2007 BBQ pictures.

Apparently the most known fear in people is the fear of being left standing alone on in front of a crowd. Not ghosts, not spiders, not even dying.
To have a large quantity of eyes looking at you. We are more scared of people looking at us dying than dying. Isn't this nice?!

Thank god for babies! As soon as a baby enters a room, everyone stops to look at their shoes and starts to stare strait into the baby's eyes. Eyes that are sensitive, that do not judge, that do not hate. Neutral eyes, virgin eyes.
When the day is over, we go home and post our 36 new pictures of ourselves on Facebook.

This is the nicest part of the story, we want everyone to look at us, but we want no one to see us.

The not fashionable me

I have a confession to make for those of you who don’t know me; I am not a fashion person.

For some unknown reason I just can’t seem to be able to follow fashion.
I would love to be able to wear high heels, but they hurt my feet and they just aren’t me.
I would love to be able to wear make up, but I just feel I am putting on Halloween make up.
When a new trend comes out most of the time I don’t like it.

I know that I love comfort and I could be a little more stylish in my comfort, but I just can’t seem to get there.
All the new clothes that come out in stores could look very pretty on me, but I am always cold so I always wear something long sleeve.
Accessories are my worst nightmare, I really feel like I am playing with my moms stuff, not mine.
So most of the times, like my purses I end up giving them away.
I can not do my nails; either I always buy bad nail polish or I have just bad luck because it always chips the first day.

Seriously my fashion style sucks I feel like am I still stuck in my teen years.
When I see those makeover shows on TV I just want to scream out, pick me pick me.

Any advice? I need an intervention.

Flash back in the 90's

Last night it was my best friends birthday and we went out.
I don't even remember the last time I went out it had been so long.

We ended up all old friends from high school, friends from the 90's lol
One of the girls brought pictures of all of us as if she knew who would be there.
Pictures of stupid things we did back in the days that brought up old memories and so many laughs (my cheeks hurt this morning)

I fell in love all over again with my old friends. Even if some of them I haven't seen in years, we just picked up where life had left us.

We are know talking about planning a weekend getaway all together.
I sure hope it happens, because I cant wait to see all of them again.

Little thought for Gracie

As she is half way across the world from me, she is probably married as I write this.

Congrats to Gracie and Jason!

I wish you guys all the love in the world and a long happy life together!

Little note, big smile

Just like that, out of the blue, I got a letter in the mail, it was from my very good friend Josie.
A little note to make me smile with a tiny pineapple.

Pineapples are the recipe to make people smile.

A few years ago I met a guy who introduced me to this pineapple theory.
I was feeling down one day and to cheer me up, he told me to go buy a pineapple!
I asked why would I want to buy myself a pineapple?
He told me just do it. It will make you smile.
Here I was later buying a pineapple and guess what I was smiling!

So the past few years I have been passing along this theory. Even sent a few real pineapples to a couple of friends at their work to make them smile and every time it worked!

Next time a person close to you doesn't feel good, you give them a pineapple, I promise it will make them smile.

I was having a bad day and it all got better when I got my pineapple.
Thank you Josie, I love you :D

Me and the internet

This is the story of how me and the internet met.

Back in 1996 after I graduated high school I started college, we didn't have a computer at home, but besides the college there was this little café called Arobas (if I remember correctly)

A new friend from college invited me over for a cappuccino (yes back then I drank coffee), when I got there he was on the computer. I asked what he was doing and he said he was chatting. I was like what? you are what? So he explained what internet was to me and created me a nickname for MIRC.

That was it I was hooked! I spent almost 2 sessions going to the café, even skipped some classes (that I ended up failing because of that)

I taught the internet was the most incredible thing. My first chat buddies was from Texas. His name was Antonio, I was convinced he was the love of my life, until I saw picture of him and spoke to him on the phone. Internet didn't seem so great anymore.

My dad then bought a computer so me (I was selfishly thinking of myself) and my sister gave him an internet connection for Christmas 1999.

I met my first motorcycle buddies on MIRC in 2000, some of them I am now real friends with. Because of MIRC I had my first internet date (disaster)lol

MIRC (and that college friend) opened up a new world to me of googling, chatting, forums and (as of the past years or so) of blogging.

So how did you meet internet?

Dexter

Last night we watched the last episode of season four.
I am completely addicted to him. I want more, I even dreamed about the show.
It's been a while since I've been addicted to a show like this one and now I have to wait for season five on TV.
I used to be completly hooked on House, but I think Dexter kicked his ass.

Do you have a show like that? A show you just cant get enough of.

Saturday's hot guy #14

This weeks eye candy is Josh Holloway.

Born in Silicon Valley California in 1969, he his the 2 child of four, all boys.
He is married to his long time love Yessica Kumala since 2004.

Addiction

Hello, my name is Caroline and I am a chocoholic.

For years I have tried to stop eating chocolate, but I am not strong enough.

If there is chocolate cake in the fridge, chocolate milk or chocolate cookies, I will get up in the middle of the night to have some.

If someone give's me a fancy chocolate box I try to control myself and eat only 2 a day, but somehow within a couple of days the box is finished. I have no self control.

I can get up in the morning and eat a chocolate bar for breakfast if I know I have one in the kitchen cabinets.

I try to hide chocolate from myself, but always end up finding it.

Chocolate actually calls my name when it sees me.

My boyfriend has to hold me back at the mall not to go crazy when we walk in front of the chocolate stores.

Just doing the groceries is tempting, there are so many chocolate items in a grocery store it is incredible!

Turn into a diabetic? Well they make chocolates for diabetic that actually taste very good :D (I did my research)

How will I ever get ride of this addiction?

I got tagged

This afternoon I got tagged by GeezLouise

I have to tell you guys 7 things you don't know about me.
Let's try to make this interesting.

1- When I was in high school I use to row (canoe-kayak). I was part of a team that specialized in war canoe (15 paddlers in one boat) it was a very competitive sport. I had to quit as the coach gave me an ultimatum, rowing or a job. I really needed money for college and my drivers license.

2- I've had my motorcycle license since 1998. I had 3 sports bikes. I don't 'ride' any more as it is a very expensive hobby for only 6 months of year.

3- I kill every green plant I touch even cactus's.

4- I buy purses and end up never liking them and giving them away.

5- As a kid I was completely convince that when looking into a mirror there was another world on the other side and my reflection was my twin.

6- I had a goth period for several years, black hair, black nail polish, black dishes, black sheets, black everything.

7- I like to change cell phone numbers every couple of years.

I'm tagging: Christa, Chinkygirlmel, Carrie and Annie

This was fun, have a great night everyone!

My best friend's dad, last part

My best friend's dad passed away this moring after a very short fight.

He was surrounded by his children and was in the comfort of his own home.

My taughts go out to my best friend Dominique and her family.

May he rest in peace.

Four years ago

Four years ago today I was undergoing surgery. I will not go into the details of the surgery as I'd like to keep it personal, but I will share with you this episode of my life.

I had been in pain for months, trying different healing solutions given by doctors, until one surgeon decided it was time for surgery.
I had gone through so much pain that my entire life was revolving around this. I had to plan out my days and stay at home to ease the pain all evenings. The only thing I did was go to work painfully. I lost so much weight that by the time I went into surgery I was only 96 pounds.

Then January 06 2006 came; A few hours later I was back at my parents house still under the effect of the anesthetic. Completely drugged up with pain killers for days. Some days I don't even remember.
The days and weeks that followed were terrible, so much pain, infection and side effects from the medication. I taught I would never heal and that I would never go back home and to work.

After 3 months of hellish recovery I was able to go back home and to work.
It took over 2 years for the full healing process.
As of today I am still left with a few repercussion of this, but that I can manage without any problem. I can say I am back to normal and that I am healthy.

When I think back of those years, I am so grateful for so many things.
If my parents hadn't been there I don't know what I would of done.
If I didn't have friends that supported me even if I was far away from them I would have gone crazy.
That new pair of shoes or your grades in school or not having a boyfriend seems so insignificant when you are in pain.

Health is so precious, nothing else matters when you don't have it.

Photo shoot

Today I went to the mall with my sister, and a lady was handing out gift certificates for a free photo shoot + 8 wallets size color photos from Magenta

I'd like to go for a photo shoot but I don't know of what?
Me and my sister did one for my parents a few years ago, but we still look pretty much the same.
I think a photo shoot with D would be a bit tacky.
My godson is not born yet, so I cant do one of him.

So what should I do? Give it to someone that could use it?
