Friendship between guys and girls, do you believe in it?
I am part of the group who doubts it, but that want to beleive in it.
I believe that there is always on of the two, who in the back of their heads wants more.
I have a few guy friends, not much, but we are both single.
I am not sure that if either one of us was in a relationship would be as simple, just to avoid jealousy from the spouse.
And friendship with ex's, do you beleive in it?
Again I would like to say yes, but I think it is possible that one of the two may have other intentions in mind.
Currently I am friends with my ex D, and everything was going great with his girlfriend until last weekend. He mentioned to me that she finally admitted not being comfortable with our friendship.
So I took my distances, and it's ok I respect her. But at the same time I am pulling away from a friendship and that sucks.
So how are you friendships with the opposite sex?

A hug
Tonight I went out for dinner with my ex.
My ex that has now turned into my best friend.
My ex that stopped being my lover, because there wasn't any love, our destiny was to have an extraordinary friendship.
But tonight while talking with him, a cheesy song played on the radio and suddenly I felt the need to have someone in my life again.
I needed a hug, but not a hug from a friend, but a pair of arms around me from a man who loves me.
No, I am not still in love with my ex and I probably never will be again, I am convinced. But at that precise instant I was wishing he was another man.
I was wishing I had a man to call and that he would come to rescue me and offer me that hug I needed so deeply.
Being single over the years can be great, but it will never replace the contact of a man in love.

2 other months
Hey guys!
I'm still alive and doing much much better.
I should be back to work in 2 weeks (yay!)
I am going completely nuts over shoes.
Counting the days before I move into my new place.
I'm still going to the gym.
I reunited with an old friend from high school and had a blast (will do again).
And I got in touch with my friend from this post
My godson gave us a scare when he had a allergic reaction to peanuts and had to be driven to the hospital by ambulance (Thank God he is fine)
Summer is finally starting to show signs that it is on it's way, I read a book sitting outside for the first time today since last summer.
After all these dark months, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
For the first time ever I am an absolute fan of American Idol (I'm rooting for Scotty) and the Amazing race (I'm rooting for Mallory and her dad).
Have a great week my friends!
PS: If you have a few minutes stop by my blog friend Chana's. She is going through a hard time and she needs all the prayers and positive energies she can get.

Letter to Carrie
Dear Carrie,
I wanted to write this letter to you on my blog as I believe everyone should know how fabulous you are.
You came to Canada to visit without knowing who I was and in what kind of world I lived in. I know I am in a very bad phase of my life right now and I would of given anything for you not to have to share this with me.
But you where there, smiling from ear to ear, listening and comforting.
So positive, joyful and up for anything from shopping to napping.
I believe that in this world there are very few people like you and you are just so fantastic. You give me hope. You are a ray of sunshine.
I'd love to see you again once I am better.
Love Caro
PS: For those of you who dont know Carrie, you should follow her blog Just a girl

Update
Hi everyone,
I am back from my craziness.
Here is what has been going on (here’s a long post)
-Me and D decided that it would be best for both of us if I moved out, so I went apartment hunting, for a great little place that I love in a part of town that I adore. My dad and my sister took a day off and helped me to cleaned the place and carry all the boxes I had. On Sunday D and one of my friends moved all my furniture (including a new couch, new shelves, new coffee tables) The same night my dad and my mom came back to help me with the finish some little thing. I still have to buy a few things as my walls are empty, but it starting to look like home J
-The triplets (my godson and sisters) are doing great getting fatter everyday. The parents had a hard time seeing them get their firsts vaccines.
-Work has been completely insane and it doesn’t look like anything is going to calm down. I love it; it makes the days go by so much faster.
-My best friend came over for a surprise visit and she met a guy in her part of the world (I am very happy for her) I am sad that she finally decided not to move back to Montreal anymore, but thanks to technology we still speak or chat almost everyday.
-I am in love with my star crush Jaroslav Halak, and he is kicking ass in the playoffs for the Stanley cup J
-I saw the heart doctor again and I have more tests to do at the beginning of June. He said not to worry, but to still hold off going to gym until he gets the results of the tests.
-I got all the result form all the test I did for the weeks I was sick after I came back from vacation and all is ok, but I am still not feeling 100%. My family doctor says it is all related to anxieties (and God knows I am anxious like crazy)
- As soon as I finish paying off all the little expenses my move cost me, I think I will get another tattoo. I have been thinking about it for years and I don’t understand why I haven’t gotten it.
-For my summer vacation this year I don’t have anything planned, but I would love to go to Nashville Tennessee. It was supposed to be my first trip ever a few years ago and I didn’t go. So why not this summer?
-I had over 400 posts to catch up on Google reader. I went through them last night and went to bed way too late (writing for work so I don’t fall asleep)
This week is still full of things do to, stuff to buy and stuff to hang, but this weekend I do plan to finally relax (I hope)

Bad coffee
Last night I met up with an old guy friend form high school for coffee that I found on facebook a few weeks ago. I hadn't seen him in about 12 years and what I could remember is that he was weird.
He always had been the black sheep in school and all kinds of rumors were going around about him. But I told myself lets give him the benefice of the doubt that he may have grown up with the years and gotten less weird.
We meet up at this little tea place in a really busy part of down town. When I see him my first impressions are: OMG he's drunk, he gained weight , his shirt is completely open (it's cold here) and he is still weird. We start talking and catching up when the waitress brings us the tea menu. So we start looking at menu and he talks and talks loud...a waiter come to see us to tell us that this place is a quiet place that he should lower his tone. Waiter ends up coming back again still telling us that this is a quiet place and bla bla bla, so my friend got up and we left.
We went to a second coffee place. A bit of a snob french place, but that seemed normal. People where looking at us because it was so obvious that he was drunk and weird. The waiter at that place kept on asking us every 5 minutes if we where done.
Since my friend was too nice, telling me multiple things like that I am naive or innocent or stupid, I was anxious to get home, so I called it a quit. He ended up not having a dime so I had to pay for everything.
We got outside and started to walk to my car. He tried to hold my hand and I told him I had a boyfriend that this wasn't appropriate and he got mad. The entire walk to my car he let me know that I shouldn't have invited him for coffee if I didn't have any intentions to have intercourse or what so ever with him. I told him very clearly the first day we reconnected on facebook that I was in a relationship.
We walked by a candy store that I love and he asks me if I want to go in. At this point I am angry embarrassed and I just want to go home. So I say know and he calls me stupid and other names. I just walk away from him, got in my car and came home.
When I got home damn I was happy this was all over. I had a message from him on facebook saying to go eat shit stupid girl.
I can tell you this coffee left a bad taste in my mouth.

Flash back in the 90's
Last night it was my best friends birthday and we went out.
I don't even remember the last time I went out it had been so long.
We ended up all old friends from high school, friends from the 90's lol
One of the girls brought pictures of all of us as if she knew who would be there.
Pictures of stupid things we did back in the days that brought up old memories and so many laughs (my cheeks hurt this morning)
I fell in love all over again with my old friends. Even if some of them I haven't seen in years, we just picked up where life had left us.
We are know talking about planning a weekend getaway all together.
I sure hope it happens, because I cant wait to see all of them again.

Little note, big smile
Just like that, out of the blue, I got a letter in the mail, it was from my very good friend Josie.
A little note to make me smile with a tiny pineapple.

Pineapples are the recipe to make people smile.
A few years ago I met a guy who introduced me to this pineapple theory.
I was feeling down one day and to cheer me up, he told me to go buy a pineapple!
I asked why would I want to buy myself a pineapple?
He told me just do it. It will make you smile.
Here I was later buying a pineapple and guess what I was smiling!
So the past few years I have been passing along this theory. Even sent a few real pineapples to a couple of friends at their work to make them smile and every time it worked!
Next time a person close to you doesn't feel good, you give them a pineapple, I promise it will make them smile.
I was having a bad day and it all got better when I got my pineapple.
Thank you Josie, I love you :D

Matchmaker
Have you ever been a matchmaker without knowing you were one?

Well after a few nights of having people over for dinner and hockey games in the past weeks...my sister and one of my friends hit it off.
They've been seeing each other lots and she even met his mom.
They've both went through similar things in their past relationships and I think it might work for them.
The only thing I wish is to never be in the middle and never have to choose.
I'll keep you posted if it becomes official ;)

Holiday spirit
Tonight I got great news! We are spending Christmas at my aunts place! YAY!
I really wanted to go in D's family, but for budget reasons and because we went this summer we will not go. Christmas was heading toward a boring quick dinner and gift exchange all over by 11 pm. My aunt invited us and I was sure we wouldn't go because my mom doesn't like to go out, but she said yes!!!
Today we had a big snow storm and I had a feeling tonight would be the night were I would find my spirits and I did.
Mailed some gifts, got the news for Christmas eve at my aunts, ate very good brownies, going shopping again Saturday with a good friend, traffic was good after work, D helped shoveled my parking spot...Life is good.
Now I feel like doing my Christmas tree :) I am so happy.
Here is a picture I found that makes me smile when I think of snow:)

Nordic spa
Today I went with friends (and my best friend) to a Nordic spa called Strom.
For those of you that don't know the concept of a Nordic spa here it is:
You expose your self to 15 minutes of intense heat, then dive into a freezing pool and then let your body relax for 15 minutes before starting all over again. It is very good for the blood flow and is very relaxing. Your body actually gets so hot that you barely feel the cold.
Here are a few pictures of my day :)
The very nice ladies looker room.

Dom underneath the freezing water fall.

Two amazing resting areas both with fireplaces, one indoor and one outdoor.

Me beside the hot waterfall.

Happy girls :)

It is open all-year-round even if it is minus 30 degrees outside with 2 feet of snow. Today wasn't bad it was only minus 6 degrees and no snow yet.
If you want to see the website and see all that they offer like massages, body wraps, healthy snack bar, ect... here is it Strom Spa
I had a fabulous day, how was yours?
PS Don't forget my giveaway Red or Green that ends Tuesday night.

My best friend's dad
My best friend moved to Gaspésie 2 months ago.
I miss her like crazy, even if in these 2 months she has come back 3-4 times.
The last time I would of wished that she never had to come. A call from her mother to tell her, her dad got rushed to the hospital.
He is a man in his 60's in shape, what could have happened?
While trying to get up one morning his hip was torturing him, he couldn't get up. Off to the hospital Xray revealed a broken hip and an inflammation of the ganglions.
A few tests and days later the diagnosis cancer. Very advanced cancer, in the tissues around the hip, in the in the intestines, stomach, esophagus and the ganglion's.
Then tonight she learn that it has spread out to the brain.
He has already done his first chemo treatment, but my friend even as a nurse is not very positive about the diagnosis.
I wish I could help her, do anything to take the pain away. She is now moving back here to be close to her dad. It is a lot of emotions in a very short period for her.
I love her so much.

Miscellaneous
Lots have happened and I lost the envy to blog.
-Friday night we went to get my boyfriend's sister at the airport. Then we had a blast doing the dessert sushi, that turn out not looking so good.
-Saturday morning my sister called me saying she was going to see my grandmother, I couldn't I had a full day planned, which made me fell guilty. Then a few hours later I was in a nordic spa with my boyfriend's sister, my best friend and few other girls. This was sooooo relaxing. After that rush to get to the surprise B-day party. It was a success, we made real sushi's and ate the dessert sushi.
-Sunday morning got up and had to fight with the turkey to make it fit in the pan (and it didn't)When shopping for a few last minute things. Got a call from my mom saying that Grandma was in her last couple of hours or days. Couldn't go I had 9 people coming over for thanksgiving, but sure planned to go the next morning. Even if I got some bad news we had a great dinner and there is so much turkey left I will die of a turkey overdose.
-Monday morning, the phone woke me up, grandma had passed. I didn't get the chance to say goodbye. In a way I am happy, the last picture I have of her is her smiling holding a porcupine in her hands and putting flowers I gave her in a vase. Maybe it is better that way. I went with my sister to spend the day with our dad to support him. We had a great day all four of us in the same bed talking about everything. Came back home I was aloud to open two really really early B-day present from my boyfriends family (my birthday is in 6 weeks, went out to dinner and got back home to watch a girly girl movie and went to bed.
-This morning I have another day off work that I had asked for because of the boyfriends sister's visit. I have no clue when the funeral will be and to how many days I can take. I am waiting for HR to call me back. Lets hope this day is a little more relaxing.
So how were your last few days? Give me good news.
Life as a single girl 4/6
Today was a hard day, with a little bit of good.
Here's a mix of a little bit of everything that happened.
Bad sleep again, low staff at work, lots of tension.
I went out with a friend for dinner, which was very nice. We chatted for few hours about this and that. I think this guy will be a friend of mine for a very long time.
I got another friend an interview today for a new job after losing his current job.
Spent 45 minutes trying to remove the ugly nail polish from yesterday and it is not all gone. Bad cheap stuff that doesn't want to go away and of course it's black so I look like I have dirty nails.
I cleared my credit card and now I am broke.
One of my girlfriends mother is living a rough part of her life health wise, but she is in a good period right now and it makes my friend smile, which makes me smile.
Spent over an hour trying to do my new short hair and I realized that I don't like short hair.
I don't feel like going to work tomorrow and I don't feel like going to Spanish class tomorrow. I just want to spend a lazy day in bed watching girl movies.
I miss my best friend, but reading my new blogger friends helps.
The cat doesn't understand me when I talk to him in French.
I hate Wednesdays, always have, always will.
I bought Halloween candy to give to kids and I don't know if kids come by in this neighborhood. So I'll end up eating them.
I wanted to talk to my boyfriend but he was with his family and I'd rather talk to him face to face. So the conversation was very short.
I gained another pound and I skipped the gym for another day.
I want a massage so bad, my body is hurting for everywhere.
I'm going to bed to continue reading a book I started.

3 ans

Saying goodbye
Last night I had to say goodbye to my best friend.
I spent the afternoon and evening with her packing boxes and gigling about stuff.
Then around 11h30, my boyfriend called to know when I was coming home...it all hit me, the time was there I had to leave and say goodbye.
Even before I hung up tears were rolling down my cheeks.
Then she saw me, I could not hold myself anymore.
Rivers went down my cheeks, lower lip just started to shake like crazy.
I was like a 5 year old, heart broken that my best friend was moving away.
I cried all the way home and cried myself to sleep.
This morning I look terrible and I still have tears coming up to my eyes.
I am very happy that she is following her dreams, I just wish they were a little closer.
I love you Dom xxx

My best friend
My best friend for 20 years is moving 10 hours away.
We went out to dinner tonight, she is very happy it has been her dream for a long time to move to Gaspésie and she is finally realising it. I'm so happy for her, and so sad.
She one of the very few people that I know she will always be there.
Even if we are months or years without talking, we would always pick up where we left off.
She knows how to talk to me, to comfort me, to get me angry to make snap out of it, but most important she knows hoe to listen.
Thank god for technology we will keep in touch by the internet and phone.
One more month before she leaves, I have to take advantage of her lol.
I will miss you Dom.
