Team Hoyt

One day a son says to his father: Dad do you want to run a marathon with me?
The dad says yes and they run their first marathon together.

One day a son says to his father: Dad do you want to run the ironman with me?
The ironman is the most difficult marathon there is 4km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42 km of running.
The dad says yes and the do the ironman together.

Seems like a pretty simple story, until you see this video.

Enjoy.

Clothes exchange night

Last night I had 13 girls come over to my place for a 'Girls night, clothes exchange night'
Every one of the brought a bag full of clothes, shoes, books, jewelry, make up, ect...
One by one we presented our items. Who ever was interested took it the item, if more than one of us was interested,we drew numbers and the highest number got to keep the piece.
We ate pizza, drank a little and had tones of laughs.

Here is a few pics of the chaos in my living room.

We had a fabulous time and everyone left with something.
Everything that was left that nobody wanted I brought to charity this morning.

Prison hotels

Old prisons converted into 5 stars luxury hotels.
I heard about it a few times on TV but never looked online for them.
So tonight I started looking and found breath taking hotels.

First, here is the Protea Hotel Breakwater Lodge located in South Africa.
A prison in the 19th century, transformed in to a hotel.

Second the Four Seasons in Istanbul.
Created from a century-old neoclassic Turkish prison.

Third, Malmaison in Oxford, UK
The castle-like walls, built for William the Conqueror in 1071, remain; as do the three-inch-thick steel doors in the cell blocks.

Finally, the Liberty Hotel in Boston, United-States

There is so many mores out the in world, but I just wanted to share a few of them with you so you can see how gorgeous they are.

What do you think? Would you spend a night in prison?

Erotic banana

Just couldn't stop laughing when I saw this background on igoogle.
Hehehe, I had to share it with you guys.

Then my boyfriend sent me this...

I was laughing so much I was crying . LOLOLOL
I hope it will make you laugh too.

The Habs

Hockey season is just on the start line.
Right now pre-season games have started.
Tonight I watched my first Habs game of this season.
What a disappointment!

I don't know the coach and haven't heard anything good about him.
I don't know most of the players on the team.
The ones I know , half of them still make the same beginners mistakes as last season and the other half is already injured.
The main goalie, the golden child as they call him, is just getting worst each game he plays, yet the general manager worships him.

So my opinion is, this season will suck as much as last season, unless a miracle happens.
They will do like they have been doing the past years, make it to the playoffs on their asses and then lose in the first series.

And to make my disappointment even bigger. I tried again this year to get tickets and the website had bugs again, so no tickets for the second year in a row.
I wrote another complaint letter and again they never answer.

Maybe I should switch teams.

A day at the ZOO

D had promised me that we would go to the ZOO and today was the day.

I got to be a giraffe.

D got to be a lion.

I got to ride an elephant.

D flew a plane.

I got to sit in a kangaroo's pouch.

D fought with an alligator.

Seriously here a few goods pics my cheap camera was able to take. I would of loved to have a good camera and to be able to cross a few gates, but I did not want to be electrocuted or to swim through the little swamps that separated us from the animal.

You remember Melman from Madagascar.

Of course you all know Alex the lion king of New York; He was in the neighborhood so he stopped by.

The plumpy and chunky Gloria.

We finish out the day with a stop at a ice cream stand.
I had a great day, not too many people and not too warm outside.
It was very nice spending this beautiful day with my lover, enjoying every minute together.

Life as a single girl 6/6

Today was my last single girl day.

Went to work as usual.
Then went to get a surprise for the boyfriend at Le Point G (thanks Chiquita)
Cleaned home a little, then ate, then cleaned me.
Watched a little tv and played with the cat again.
And I am now leaving for the airport.

I enjoyed the days alone very much, it is fabulous to have some alone time even if you do nothing, but I am so happy to go get D:)

Life as a single girl 4/6

Today was a hard day, with a little bit of good.
Here's a mix of a little bit of everything that happened.

Bad sleep again, low staff at work, lots of tension.

I went out with a friend for dinner, which was very nice. We chatted for few hours about this and that. I think this guy will be a friend of mine for a very long time.

I got another friend an interview today for a new job after losing his current job.

Spent 45 minutes trying to remove the ugly nail polish from yesterday and it is not all gone. Bad cheap stuff that doesn't want to go away and of course it's black so I look like I have dirty nails.

I cleared my credit card and now I am broke.

One of my girlfriends mother is living a rough part of her life health wise, but she is in a good period right now and it makes my friend smile, which makes me smile.

Spent over an hour trying to do my new short hair and I realized that I don't like short hair.

I don't feel like going to work tomorrow and I don't feel like going to Spanish class tomorrow. I just want to spend a lazy day in bed watching girl movies.

I miss my best friend, but reading my new blogger friends helps.

The cat doesn't understand me when I talk to him in French.

I hate Wednesdays, always have, always will.

I bought Halloween candy to give to kids and I don't know if kids come by in this neighborhood. So I'll end up eating them.

I wanted to talk to my boyfriend but he was with his family and I'd rather talk to him face to face. So the conversation was very short.

I gained another pound and I skipped the gym for another day.

I want a massage so bad, my body is hurting for everywhere.

I'm going to bed to continue reading a book I started.

Big brother is over

So tonight was the last episode of Big Brother 11.
Jordan, the little blond girly girl won.
It was a very good season, glad it's not Nathalie that won.

So my 2 months of watching tv is over.
The Montreal Canadiens are the ones that will be on the TV for the next ohh...8 months (little smiley face that is rolling his eyes)
Don't get me wrong I love hockey, but 3-4 times a week for 8 months, way too much.

Life as a single girl 3/6

I slept a little better last night, I think I was exhausted.
After work to day I went shopping for a computer case, cant find anything.
Then I went to get my car cleaned inside and out.
Came back home, changed and went back out.
Bought a new nail polish and magazine.
And I heard this Belgium chocolate box screaming at me so I had to buy that too.
Got home, ate dinner, talk a little on the phone with boyfriend.
Did my nails again and enjoyed my chocolates in front of the TV.
Tonight it is the Big Brother last show, so gotta go ;)

Life as a single girl 2/6

Last night was my first night alone and I slept like shit.
My stomach was upset all night all the way till noon today.
I don't know if it's because I was a little paranoid of being alone in this big house, no 6'6 boyfriend to kick the bad guys asses.
I still went to work this morning and did my job.

After work I went to my sisters for dinner with my family.
Came back home after flipped some magazines, watched Tv, played with the cat, went through pictures on my new laptop and did my nails.

I know I haven't done much girl stuff yet and I don't know if I will.
So far the part I love the most is that the toilet seat stays down :P

Life as a single girl 1/6

Just a little after noon I drove my boyfriend to the airport.
He has a entire week of flights and presentations through out Canada.
He has 11 planes to take in 6 days. The good side of the trip..he'll get to see his family and he'll have a girlfriend that will have missed him a lot when he gets back.

So yes for 6 days I am a 'single' girl :)
All week I'll keep you posted on my single life lol

What am I gonna do special? I have no clue. So far today I went clothes shopping with my sister, I cleaned the house and did groceries.
I am just gonna enjoy my alone time and try to do 'girl' stuff.

Any suggestions?

New laptop

Yay I finally bought my new laptop last night!
But guess what I am still writing from my old piece of shit.
My new laptop right now is not very user friendly with his *beeping* Windows Vista.
I wanted to wait for the ones coming with Windows 7, but I just couldn't and I should of. Right now I just feel like throwing the thing across my living room.

I'll ask my geek boyfriend to help me when he'll get up, but he is a Linux user, so I have an idea of what he will tell me. He already installed my a bunch of stuff I use lat night but not everything. Since I don't consider myself as completely clueless with computers I decided to install MSN on my own (which I have done in the past with no problems at all on windows XP).
Well I cant *beeping* do it with Windows *beeping* Vista. I've downloaded 3 times all the MSN live bullshit junk and in my start up menu I still have: Windows Live messenger Download. What the hell am I doing wrong? Ok I am French and I got the Windows Vista in English, but that has nothing to do with me not being able to install, I believe I understand English pretty good.

So yeah I could of wrote all of this from the new laptop (yay), but I just don't feel like touching it right now. I'd just want to delete all the stupid icons in the start up menu that I don't *beeping* need.

With the new laptop (yay) I did get a free upload to Windows 7 when this one comes out, which is apparently very good (cant be worst than Vista).

In the meantime if any of you have experience with Vista and can help me please do not hesitate to guide me.

***Update***
Thank you ladies for your mental support. Geek boyfriend got up and fixed my problem. Then I spent the entire day(12 hours) transferring files and reorganizing my stuff. Now I am too tired to enjoy the new laptop lol

Spanish

Last night I had my first Spanish lesson.
I was alone with the teacher as the 3 other students are teachers themselves and that it was parent night at their school.
So I had a private lesson for the first one and it was intense. I taught I was doing pretty good with my Spanish CD’s for dummies, but she went through everything I knew in the first hour of the lesson. It’s going to be very challenging to try to speak 3 languages, but I want to do it.
My goal is not to learn how to write it (I have enough of trying to write without any mistakes in French and in English), but to be able to speak it.
I’ll try to keep you posted as the weeks go by.

Hasta pronto!

Followers

Even if I have been blogging for a little while I am still fairly new to the world of blogging.
Lately I discovered the ‘’Next Blog’’ button and this is how I discovered many of you.
Then I realise that I could actually follow you guys without keep you in my list of favourites on my computer (as you must know my computer sucks and I am about to change it)
Then I realise that I could add the Followers box to my blog and see if I had followers. And I do! Not many but I do :)
This blogging world is like therapy to me and I am happy to know that I do have some people that check up on me once is a while even if I have some boring posts or French posts.
Thank you to all of you Followers and non official followers :)

Sunburn

Yeah well my day yesterday was great, until I felt my face and my hands.
I am so burnt it hurts when I laugh, when I move my eye brows or rub my hands together.
And since I had my sunglasses on most of the day, I look like a raccoon. You can also tell that I was holding a fishing rod because of the way my hands are burnt.

Yes I did put sunscreen on, but I think that when I did it was already too late. So my bottle of aloe is my new best friend :(
It really hurts, I sure hope it will turn into a tan at least.

You guys have tricks to relive the pain instead of aloe? Aloe is so sticky.

Gone fishing

Today me and my boyfriend are taking my dad fishing.
It's the second year we do this and I love it.
To see how excited my dad gets makes it all worth it.
The past week he's been laying out his fishing rods in his living room.
He even bought a fishing rod for my boyfriend and gave him a little box full of fish anchors.
And the past few days he has been putting his alarm clock on at 6 am to be ready to get up this morning.
He is very cute and it makes me so happy.
Let's just hope that this year we do catch something, last year we didn't even get an attempt of a bit in 8 hours on the lake.

***Update***

The only fish of the day and I caught it, see jealous boyfriend in the back of the picture :)

Like it or not?

I think it's pretty, but not sure if I like it or not.
I guess I'll see once I try to do it on my own.
You, you like it or not?

Pick a cause

Have you ever been solicitated to give money for a cause? Of course you have been.
There is so many causes out there you could give one dollar to every cause you come across and would not have enough for everyone with a one year salary.

So how do you choose your cause?
Do you base your decision on life experiences?
On situation that you judge should be paid more attention to?
How much should you give a year?
How do you know when you give that this person is not putting the money in their own pockets?
I guess for all of the above you have to go with the feeling that the cause gives you.

My cause is AIDS. Not that I think that others are not good causes, but I picked this one based on a personal experience while working in a hospital a few years ago.
A very bad experience filled with fear ,illness and death.

Maybe if something comes to get me inside like this one did, I'll have 2 causes.
In the meantime, every time there's a little booth, I give a little.
A little can sometimes make a big difference.

Do you have a cause you carry close to you heart? and why that one?

3 ans

House

I am a HUGE fan of House!
I just noticed that season 5 is out on DVD.
Will I be able to wait till my B-day to get it?
I don't think so :)
I just cant get enough.
I love the show so much that I can almost picture my life with a hospital like that one and my life with Dr Chase *love eyes*
Cant find the problem, House will fix it!
Awwwww cant wait till season 6 starts :)
